Painting is my go to happy place, you know that the one place we all like to loose ourselves in. Well mine is allowing my thoughts to freely float around my head whilst my hands are covered in colour. To me colour is truly my eye candy, my fun and sometimes my self inflicted torture too. I mainly paint with a pallet knife as this allows me to create surfaces with varying consistencys and build layers of interest, my world is a curated collection of colour and texture.
Having grown up in London in an artistic family, Royal Academician Grandfather, my world from an early age was immersed in creativity. The day before my 40th birthday I emigrated to Australia with my Aussie husband, daughter and our 2 cats, lifes next massive adventure awaits.
Now spending most of my time in my new home town of Geraldton in regional Western Australia my inspiration is found in the world of nature around me. From the ever changing beach, mood of the ocean, brightness of the sky, shades of the sunsets, paddocks of dust to the fields of colours, the endless paintbox.
From a child with pencils and paper lost in my world of doodles to carving a career from art as I traveled through life has been an incredible challenge. My works both original and licensed have gone around the world and it will always hold me humble of heart and with great gratitude that my creations are hanging on a wall somewhere in their forever home.
With a brush or palette knife in hand my heart is always singing - never in tune but alway smiling.
